KEMERTON CONSERVATION TRUST

 'Conserving wildlife and ancient landscape'

Registered Charity Number: 702488

Introduction

In addition to the Board of Governors, Kemerton Conservation Trust employs one self-employed contractor to carry out some of its day-to-day work.  Pamela Clarke, the Conservation Advisor, is responsible for overseeing habitat management and monitoring and recording wildlife.

John Threadingham, the Warden, assists the Trust in a voluntary role carrying out the practical habitat management on the reserves.

Kate Aubury, the Support Coordinator, assists the Trust in a voluntary role supervising monthly work parties, running events, writing grant applications and administering our Friends of KCT scheme.  She is also the Company Secretary. Further administrative support is provided by our bookkeeper Joanna Wiseman, who's time is donated by Kemerton Estate Partnership.

In addition, we rely on a large band of dedicated volunteers who lend their support to the Trust in a multitude of ways. For more information about volunteering, please see our how you can help page.

Our Key Personnel

Pamela Clarke – Conservation Advisor
Pamela comes from a medical background and more recently did an MA in English Literature. Her childhood interest in wildlife grew with volunteering on Kemerton Estate in the 1980s alongside her husband John. She was involved with the set-up of the Trust and the creation of Kemerton Lake Nature Reserve and has worked since on a variety of Trust projects. For many years Pamela volunteered as John’s assistant, but following his death in 2019, she has taken over the role of Conservation Advisor. She is involved in habitat management, monitoring wildlife on the estate and beyond and data inputting.

John Threadingham – Warden
John comes from an agricultural and forestry background.  He is an experienced machinery operator and has management experience of large scale agri-environment schemes.  In 2003 he became self-employed as a woodland contractor, working extensively with the Woodland Trust and Kemerton Estate. John joined the Trust in 2012 as our part-time warden, a role he now carries out on a voluntary basis. John is responsible for the day-to-day habitat management on reserves.

Kate Aubury – Support Coordinator & Company Secretary
Kate is a passionate nature lover who joined the Trust in 2008 as a volunteer and now devotes much of her spare time to conservation work. A keen amateur wildlife photographer, she is also a licensed bat worker and monitors bats for the Trust alongside her main role as Support Coordinator, as well as recording fungi on the Trust’s reserves. Kate supervises the monthly volunteer work parties as well as running all our events, managing the Friends scheme, writing grant applications and assisting with other Trust activities.  In 2020 Kate also became the Trust’s Company Secretary.
